What is the benefit of shopping at Treasure Hunt?

It is all in the name…Treasure Hunt. We offer leading private label and name brand merchandise as well as first quality clothing and home décor at prices much less than retail. At Treasure Hunt, you can stretch your dollar further and still go home with the same high-quality merchandise you could find at the mall or with other famous retailers. We purchase our stocks from retailers all over the country, so we may carry items that you would only find in those regions. With incredible deals on today’s leading name brand merchandise and clothing, who could turn down a treasure hunt?

What is the difference between Treasure Hunt and other retailers?

Most retailers have an established set of vendors and distributors who they purchase goods from at a wholesale price. Treasure Hunt is a retailer in the secondary market, which means that we purchase goods from traditional retailers who have had a hard time selling those items through normal channels of distribution due to errors in purchasing, increased competition or down economies. Our merchandise changes weekly, and sometimes daily, so it’s always a unique shopping experience.

How can you sell your merchandise so cheaply?

Our business model allows us to not only form relationships with major retailers, but also provide a valuable service by removing their problem inventories. By providing this service to them we are able to obtain merchandise for much less than the original retail cost, which in turn allows us to pass the savings on to you.

How do Treasure Hunt buyers find the merchandise for the stores to sell?

Our buyers travel the country purchasing inventories from insurance salvage claims, manufacturer’s buybacks and closeouts, bankruptcies and retail overstocks. We find value where others don’t and turn supplier’s problems into great opportunity for our customers.

What is the difference between Dirt Cheap and Treasure Hunt?

Treasure Hunt buyers mainly purchase insurance salvage whereas Dirt Cheap stores focus mainly on customer returns. However, both stores receive liquidations, closeouts and overstocks and may sometimes share a shipment of merchandise.

Is all of the merchandise in Treasure Hunt damaged?

No. Some items may have slight damage, but the vast majority of our inventory is in perfect condition.

Do all locations have the same merchandise?

Our merchandise supply is somewhat unpredictable; therefore all locations will not receive the same assortment of merchandise. For this reason, it pays to check out as many of our *locations* as possible.

How can I find out what kind of merchandise is currently on sale?

How often do your stores receive new merchandise?

What is the Treasure Hunt return policy?

We will be happy to refund your money or exchange an item if you are unhappy with your purchase. All you have to do is return the item with receipt to the Treasure Hunt store where the item was purchased within 3 days of the purchase date (7 days for electronic items and appliances). All merchandise must be returned in its original condition. Shoes must be returned unworn. All sales are final on jewelry, sunglasses, fragrances, open cosmetics, undergarments, swimwear, books, food, medicine, and 90% off merchandise.

How can I apply for a job at a Treasure Hunt store or at one of the Distribution Centers?

You may apply online or in store.

Can I buy a Treasure Hunt franchise?

Can I buy stock in Treasure Hunt?

No. Treasure Hunt is not a publicly traded company.

What is salvage?

Salvage merchandise mostly consists of retail merchandise that has been claimed by an insurance company due to some form of natural disaster, whether it be fire, flood, or another form of damage to the store. We then buy the merchandise and resell it in our stores. Salvaged goods can also be considered liquidations, closeouts, business closings or overstocks.

Doesn't salvage mean that it's just junk?

In the retail industry salvage can have various definitions, but most of the time it is defined by anything that has value left in a secondary market. Originating with the term salvage value – an accounting term – “salvage” can mean brand new, still in the box and surplus stocks or it can be an insurance claim.

If it’s unsellable in the beginning we simply dispose of it and move on. Our creed governs our decisions and we are committed to selling desirable merchandise at an honest and extremely discounted price.

Why would you carry smoky merchandise?

Our business model is built upon finding value where others cannot. We pride ourselves in our resourceful and inventive strategies to create opportunities where others see none. In doing so, we are able to offer our customers valuable products at an incredible price. We have a sales system in place to eliminate problem inventory as we quickly liquidate our merchandise to make room for new shipments.

How are you different from a thrift store?

Our merchandise is purchased directly from other retailers or manufacturers. We do not purchase merchandise from individuals and we only sell new merchandise.
